THE COACH

Dr Steven Rynne is a professionally accredited Level 1 Cycling Coach who as the Club's Head Coach leads our Coaching and Mentoring team.

Steven has been a cycling coach with the Kangaroo Point Cycling Club for just over a decade.

While he has a particular interest in track cycling, Steven coaches junior, senior and master athletes in road and track disciplines.

He is a qualified physical education teacher, holds a doctorate in sports science and lectures in Sport Coaching at The University of Queensland.

THE MENTORS

Craig Briant is an active racing Member of the Club who rides for the QSM Racing Team. 

Craig has raced everything from the National Championships through to local criteriums at Murrarie and enjoys working with riders of all abilities to help them focus on racing and training goals.

Craig is a proud member of the Kangaroo Point Cycling Club's Coaching and Mentoring Team.

Matthew Payne is an active racing Member of the Club who rides for the Erdinger Alkoholfrei - Fiets Apparel Test Team.

Matthew competed at the World Masters Road Championships in 2013, has been an Australian and State Masters Road Race Champion and is racing open road races, the Queensland Road Teams Series and the National Road Series this year.

Matthew is a high-performance focused athlete who enjoys working with Members to help them step-up their performance.

Matthew is a proud member of the Kangaroo Point Cycling Club's Coaching and Mentoring Team.

 

Kangaroo Point Cycling Club is pleased to deliver the upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic Men's Performance Racing Program.

This program is designed to compliment our upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic Women's Only Training Program and will provide a supportive, structured and professionally coached program for men.

This program is aimed at riders who are new to road racing, riders who may ride regularly but would benefit from a structured training program, or more experienced riders looking to structure their training and race the Cunningham Classic for the first time.

Delivered by Club Coach Dr Steven Rynne with support from Club Mentors Craig Briant and Matthew Payne, participants will receive:

  • Group based coaching from a professionally accredited cycling Coach
  • A group training program
  • Regular group rides with other participants
  • Skills advice and development
  • Two dedicated mentors to support you along the way

The Performance Racing Program starts 12 weeks before race day on Saturday the 10th of May and runs through until you've crossed the line and can celebrate your achievement with club mates, friends and family!

The upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic Men's Racing Performance Program is free and available exclusively to Members of the Kangaroo Point Cycling Club.
