The club is honored to boast the largest female membership in Queensland. Much of this is attributed to our weekly WoW: Women’s Only Wednesday ride, introduced to support women entering cycling to improve skills and confidence with an emphasis on riding safely in groups.

We provide a safe space for women to learn to ride safely and comfortably in what has been predominately a male-dominated sport. Women’s Only Wednesday (WOW) is an easy weekly ride for our female members to enjoy together and is an excellent place to get used to group riding with a great bunch of women. We also have a dedicated female Women’s Captain to look after this growing segment of the club.

WOW is a no-drop ride, so no one ever gets left behind, and afterward, you can enjoy a coffee together at West End by around 6.45am before heading off to work. This ride is great way to take your first steps with the club in a relaxed and friendly environment, and follows the traditional short river loop. It’s a fabulous way to start your day!

To get involved, either join the club or contact our Women’s Captain, Kim Harland, for a trial ride.

You have the option of obtaining a 4-week free trial AusCycling membership which includes personal and 3rd party liability insurance so you can go on club rides like a full member. You can then turn your licence into a fully paid membership if you decide to join the club at the end of the 4 weeks.

WednesdayWomen on Wednesday (WOW) Riverloop.  This ride has two groups.  The WOW ride is for beginners, new to group riding or returning riders.

Also on Wednesdays, our MoW ride is a mixed ride at an intermediate pace, for more confident riders who want some effort in the roll around the Riverloop.
