This past week saw two open events on the Cycling Queensland calendar: the QCL State Criterium Championships at Nundah and the ANZAC 25 at Lakeside Raceway.
Saturday 22 April saw Cycling Queensland host the QCL State Criterium Championships at Nundah. The race marks the end of the criterium season with gold, silver and bronze state championship medals up for grabs in men's and women's races across U19, U23, Elite and Masters races. Racing is based on age rather than grade so the fields can be smaller than your typical crit but racing is always hard and fast. Well done to all club members who raced on the day and big congratulations to:
- AL Cosgrove – WMas 6 - GOLD
- Micheala Murray - WElite – SILVER
- Deborah Roberts – WMas 5 – BRONZE
- Katrina Robertson – WMas 6 – BRONZE
I would also like to thank KP members who commisaired and volunteered on the day.
Tuesday 25 April saw the annual ANZAC 25 hosted by Hamilton Wheelers Cycling Club at Lakeside Raceway, a 3.5km track with a testing hill climb, flowing decent and long finishing straight. Racing occurred throughout the day in juniors, elite and masters grades for both men and women. Well done to HWCC for running a fine event that always includes the playing of the Last Post at midday followed by the 25 lap Elite A mens race. KP was represented across numerous grades with some great results. Well done to everyone and congratulations to:
- Stephen Rashleigh – Elite B – FIRST
- Michael Jones – Elite C – SECOND
- Micheala Murry – Womens A - SECOND
- Tim Benstead – Master D – SECOND
- Amy Schramm – Womens A – THIRD
Finally I would like to thank Roy Jelly for his commisaire duties throughout the day, much appreciated Roy.
